Transgender

Transgender (or Trans) people are people whose gender identity differs from the one assigned at their birth. This includes MtF (Male to Female, A.K.A Transfeminine, Transfemme or Transfem) and FtM (Female to Male, A.K.A Transmasculine or Transmasc), known as Binary Transgender, but also includes anyone under the Non-Binary umbrella. In my case, I am Transfeminine. Please refer to me as a girl.

Pansexual

Pansexuals / Panromantics are people who can be equally attracted to anyone, regardless of their sex or gender identity. It is separate to Bisexual, which only includes the 2 binary genders of Male and Female. It also indicates a lack of preference for any identity as a partner, as someone who is attracted to all sexes/genders but is preferring to a certain type is likely to consider themselves as Omnisexual.

Therian

Therians are people who find themselves identifying as animals other than human. They are aware of their human body and mind, but for one reason or another align with a species of animal moreso than humans. They are a subculture of Otherkin, who are people who identify as anything non-human, not necessarily animals, moreso than humans. The species that a therian identifies as is known as their Theriotype. In my case, I find myself aligning with the behaviours of and enjoying the company of cats more than I do humans - therefore, my theriotype would be a cat. This does not mean I don't enjoy my time with my non-therian friends, I enjoy their company and appreciate them massively for being with me so long, it is simply an extension of my identity and, to an extent, my behavioural patterns (I sometimes catch myself licking the back of my hand like a paw and running it through my hair, for instance.) Some therians however may believe their identity stems from a paranormal occurence, such as past lives as animals.

Legacy Terms

These terms are identities I've tried in the past and found do not suit me for one reason or another. “But, if you don't use them anymore, then why keep them here?” I hear you ask. Well, for 3 reasons, For one, my identity is always on the fritz. It's a bizarre hurricane of confidence into temporary change. Each new corner I turn, I hope to find my permanent identity, but in case I end up retracing my steps, it's handy to keep an archive of my past. Second, it's nice to have definitions, even if I don't abide by them anymore, in the off chance somebody doesn't know these exist, and maybe even finds themselves identifying as them once they learn about their existence. You never know. And finally, I'm just an archival freak. If I didn't leave these here, I'd miss them for some reason or another, like keeping copies of notes I've written as a window into how I used to think in some years time (I don't actually do that, I don't tend to write notes, but you get the picture). Just know that any present tense beyond this point should be relegated to past.

Genderfluid

Genderfluid people are people whose gender identity fluctuates between different points, perhaps feeling male one day, female the next, and a non-binary identity the day after. These changes can happen frequently or scarcely, and can be major or minor. I, for instance, don't really feel my identity change too much, but when I think about how I act and my presentation, I sometimes find small fluctuations where I feel more masculine and others where I feel more feminine or gender neutral. This term also falls under the Non-Binary umbrella.

Demigirl

Demigirls (sometimes called demiwomen, demifemales or demiladies) are people whose gender identity aligns with feminine identities, but also is not entirely female. It can co-exist with other identities, for instance, in my case, I experience small fluctuations in my gender identity (see above), but I always align somewhat femininely, whether I feel fully like a girl or only somewhat.
